Exclusive: Multi-family office adds two in Singapore

Kamet Capital Partners has made two new hires, Citywire Asia can exclusively reveal.

The Singapore-based multi-family office, which manages over $1bn in assets for four clients, has welcomed Sze King Chong as portfolio manager, and Xunwen Oh as client advisor.

Chong joins from Commonwealth Avenue Asset Management, a hedge fund company he started in 2017. He was previously a senior portfolio manager at Julius Baer’s discretionary investment management team for three years.

Prior to that, Chong was HSBC Insurance’s chief investment officer for Singapore and Malaysia for five years. In his earlier days, he worked as a portfolio manager with Asia Genesis Asset Management for three years.

Meanwhile, Oh joins Kamet from JP Morgan Private Bank, where she held client advisor and global investment specialist roles for over 12 years. She advised Southeast Asian families on portfolio management and spent a few years managing and implementing the bank’s strategy for clients with discretionary mandates.

Kamet CEO and CIO Kerry Goh said Chong brings deep markets insight from managing ‘multi-asset portfolios and analytical rigor from hedge funds, and Oh is growing the investor base at Kamet.

‘Chong’s immediate contribution was providing data-driven analytics for investors of Kamet Long Term Capital Fund, our flagship multi-asset fund.

‘And Oh transitioned seamlessly into her role as client advisor at Kamet by bridging the knowledge and market intelligence provided by portfolio teams to clients in useful bite-sizes,’ he told Citywire Asia.

Kamet Capital actively invests in both public and private markets focusing on the technology, healthcare, and consumer sectors.

The Kamet Long Term Capital fund, which was launched last year under the Variable Capital Company framework, has so far seen three clients invest about $100m into the fund.
